Orla Deegan: Chartered Physiotherapist

Orla is chartered physiotherapist who graduated from The Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI), Dublin and has been working in musculoskeletal physiotherapy for the past 8 years. She has gained significant experience working with Dublin based sports physiotherapy clinics during which she handled elite level athletes on a day to day basis. In addition to this she has spent 5 years working for Middle East’s largest private medical group, Mediclinic, during which she managed a busy physiotherapy department, as well as dealing with a large amount of the post-operative rehabilitation of local athletes. Orla’s area of interest is in sports rehabilitation with focus on the treatment of both chronic and acute injury. She has vast experience pitch side as well as clinic based and has worked as physiotherapist for Dubai Celts Gaelic Football Club, Synge Street/Templeogue Senior Football Club, Trinity rugby team, travelled on tour with the Irish netball team and has been involved in the rehabilitation of prominent Shamrock Rovers and Fingal Utd footballers. Orla has had the opportunity to gain a large amount of experience internationally. She has carried out Clinical Pilates qualifications in Singapore, Certificate in Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from South Africa and Dry Needling courses from Dubai. She is also an accredited acupuncturist and member of the British Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Orla is a keen sportswoman with a love for Gaelic Games, having played intercounty minor Gaelic football with Wexford before continuing her football in Dublin with Clontarf senior ladies football club and more recently with Dubai Celts. She has also played badminton at county and provincial level and currently is enjoying club badminton.
