DBSM Athletic Development Coach

James is a strength and conditioning coach who has coached amateur, elite and professional athletes from a variety of sports including Soccer, Basketball, Golf, Rugby, GAA, Boxing, Motorsport, Swimming, Athletics, Triathlon and Taekwondo. He holds an honours degree in Sports Management and Coaching from Institute of Technology Blanchardstown. Upon completing his honours degree he undertook an internship with the National Athlete Development Academy in Dublin before furthering his studies with an Masters in Coaching and Exercise Science from University College Dublin. He is further certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds a number of coaching qualifications in athletics, soccer, rugby and Dartfish Performance Analysis.

James has a wide range of experience designing and delivering athletic development programmes to both individual and team sport athletes. At DBSM James also works closely with the physio department in delivering return to play programmes to athletes and coaching MS and Parkinson’s patients through their rehabilitation programmes. James biggest areas of interest would be Long Term Athlete Development and sports performance while his coaching philosophy is based on supporting athletes/clients in achieving their performance and health goals by providing an encouraging, educational and enjoyable environment to train in.
